About Me

My Story

As a native Washingtonian raised in the Cascade foothills, I had the privilege of growing up surrounded by nature. When you're a kid with two staticky TV channels, no internet, insatiable curiosity and a wild imagination, the world quickly becomes your playground. You make your own toys, you write your own stories, and you ask questions.

Fast forward a few decades and I can tell you that not much has changed (besides the TV and internet situation, of course). Whether I'm faced with a design project or learning a new skill, my process is the same: approach with a passion for understanding exactly how things work — and why. Gather answers from folks with differing points of view to challenge my own assumptions. Seek clarification and feedback from the experts. And every step of the way, ask the right questions. No matter where the future of design goes, or what technological leaps will shift our ways of working, it's my firm belief that a desire to learn and grow is an unwavering key to success in creative work.

As a creative through and through, I have a handful of irons in the fire at any given time. I've been writing, drawing, and sculpting for as long as I can remember, and I still find these outlets especially rewarding. When I'm not designing, drawing, writing, or making, you can find me gardening and raising chickens, foraging native plants and fungi on hikes, and dreaming about my next cosplay project.
